Factory Girl

“The Factory” was the studio of  Andy Warhol and the place for in crowd of the 60’s. The movie is about Edie Sedgwick  as  a perpetual victim (Note: how she gets high–but never injects herself-others put the drugs into her) to the men in her life.

The acting in the movie is outstanding, Sienna Miller (Edie) and Guy Pearce (Andy) both nail their charterers. During the credits they play an interview with the real Andy Warhol and it took me a minute to notice it wasn’t Pearce.

The problem for me was the script–none are likable. Victims and users all, maybe it was the writers vision or maybe they got a little highhanded.  Whatever the reason it caused me to distance myself from the emotion in the movie.

5/10 worth watching for acting -it’s too bad they didn’t have a better script, could have been a classic.
