Tremors (1990)

Ron Underwood is the director of Tremors, his first feature film. His next movie City Slickers (1991) was a big commercial success, the next two, Mighty Joe Young (1998)  and The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002) were huge failures.

Tremors (1990)

The handymen team of Val (Kevin Bacon) and Earl(Fred Ward)  live and work  in Perfection, Nevada.  It’s a desert town with just a few residents, among them survivalist couple Burt(Michael Gross) and Heather (Reba McEntire).  Rhonda (Finn Carter), a college student conducting seismology tests in the valley becomes Val’s love interest as they defend themselves against underground monsters bend on eating everything moving above ground.

Tremors is more of a  comedy, going for more laughs over scares. It’s the great chemistry between Val and Earl that brings the most humor to the film. Never saw Tremors in the theater, watched it HD on the big screen this time and really enjoyed it.
