The Last Stand

The Last Stand By Nathaniel Philbrick – detailed history of Custer’s last stand.

Started reading this book because I was going to Little Bighorn as part of a cross country trip. The book covers a lot of facts and didn’t grab me till near the end. ┬áIt took me a long time to read it and I almost bounced a couple of times. Wish I had forced myself to read it before I went to the battlefield.

The author tried to cover the leaders involved on both sides of the battle, but as you read the book it tilts like a broken teeter totter to Custer.
