Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the third movie in the Underworld series. It serves as a prequel to the first two of the series. It tells how the vampire werewolf war began.

Another mindless action movie with nothing to offer. This movie was stupid the whole way through and was often very boring. The movie had tons of horrible dialogue and was riddled with ridiculous plot holes. It was pretty much unwatchable. The action sequences are stale and the plot is clichéd. You would have to be a very hardcore follower of the Underworld series to get anything out of this. This trash is just fanboy fodder.

“We can be Lycans!” I think I’ll pass but thanks.

50′s comic book like story with several good actors, but a fair/corny script. The special effects are bad even for this time. On the plus side I didn’t fall asleep and I got just what I expected in watching it.

This is the fifth Harry Potter film released. The magic community thinks Harry and Dumbledore are nuts when they say Voledmort is back, but he is.

The goblet of fire had a dark side as a child dies in a quest to win an awesomely amazing prize and the darkness continues in the order of the phoenix as our good pal Voldemort is having a coming out party. You would think that the Ministry of Magic would not be so obtusely bigoted and be more like oppressed mutants or something. They really take the name in vain thing to a whole new level. The power of love seems to really work on Voldemort so I am not exactly sure what everyone is so worried about. These movies are so damn silly and ridden with unoriginality coupled with plot holes. It is just ridiculous. Can’t wait for the next one.

“You’re the weak one and you’ll never know love or friendship and I feel sorry for you.” Being the Lord of Darkness isn’t so cool anymore huh Voldy.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the first installment of the Harry Potter series. Harry discovers that his parents were wizards and there exists a wizard academy call Hogwart’s that he is to attend.

This is a fine kid’s movie, but I have absolutely no idea how anyone over the age of fifteen can be entertained by this rubbish. Wow wizards, magic, bad acting, and boring story lines with more cliches than my writing. I am not a fan. There were some good elements though like pestering his terrible Aunt and Uncle as well as some of the other original material like funny tasting jellybeans and whatever else. Everything that isn’t original has been done so many times that it should never be done again. Love can save the world. For being a stupid movie for tweens Harry Potter is awarded three points. Yay.

Waking Life is done by Richard Linklater. It follows a young man in a lucid dream state bouncing from conversation to conversation.

This movie was very abstract. This was the first time I had seen a rotoscoped film. I enjoyed the originality in the animation as well as plot, but I did not really care for the content. I may have been missing elements of the film, but the conversations seemed mundane to me. Some of them were interesting, yet I never felt engrossed or completely held by any of them. This may be a case where the movie is going way over my head, but I wasn’t that impressed with the dialogue.

“They say that dreams are only real as long as they last. Couldn’t you say the same thing about life?”

Working in a remote village in the Himalayas, scientist John Rollason (Peter Cushing) and his wife Helen (Maureen Connell), study rare mountain plants. But his real desire is to find the Yeti, his opportunity comes with the arrival of an American named Tom Friend (Forrest Tucker). Friend leads an expedition to find the elusive Yeti and enlists Rollason to help over his wife’s objections. Friend’s motives are questionable and it leads to problems on the mountain.

The movie’s special effects are not strong, as a mater of fact they are laughable at times, but the story is solid. The film points out just what man should really fear and in this case it’s not the Yeti

9 is a film by Shane Acker produced by Tim Burton. It is the spawn of a 2005 short of the same name.

This movie was really childish. Tim Burton associated his name with it and it had a PG-13 rating, so I expected a little more of an adult theme. I don’t love Tim Burton’s animations, but I definitely don’t usually mind watching them. Other than being awkwardly dark as to make me squint, I don’t understand the rating. Visually the film had a painted sort of look to it that was different. It was better looking than most animated movies. The story, however, was very weak and not something I enjoyed. Overall, I couldn’t help but feel like this film was disappointing and just more of the same lame cliches packaged in a Saturday morning cartoon thing.

“You owe me a new cape”

3/10

Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) is an orphan adopted by the King because of an act of courage. The story starts with Dastan and his royal-blooded foster brothers, Tus (Richard Coyle), Garsiv (Toby Kebbell), and his uncle, Nizam (Ben Kingsley) are planning an attack on the sacred city of Alamut. The city is ruled by Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton), turns out she is the protector of a magic dagger.

This movie is loaded with action-maybe too much action. It has all the makings of a really good fantasy film. The special effects were over the top and became more important than the story. The last part of the movie was dragged out with extra scenes just to add extra effects. Action movie, with fighting love interests that finely fall for each other.

Erik the Viking (Tim Robins) wants to change the world, he sets out on a quest to to Valhalla where they will wake the Gods. Halfdan the Black (John Cleese) and Loki (Anthony Sher) want to stop Eric from his mission.

The real problem for the film is it’s connection to Monty Python, if you watch it expecting a Monty Python movie, you will be disappointed. However there is Monty Python style humor through out the movie-like where to sit in the boat or sea sickness scenes.
